The students and teachers of La Cité collégiale’s Police Foundations Program, in collaboration with Winterlude, invite all families to participate in the Winter Fun and Games. Children in grades 1 to 6 are invited to participate in several fun sporting events, organized by the students in the program, to be held at the college campus of La Cité collégiale, located at 801 Aviation Parkway in Ottawa.
Opening ceremonies will take place on February 20th and the Games will be held on February 21-22, 2009. Some of the games will include the longest belly slide, snow soccer, snowball hockey, snow tug of war and several other creative team and individual competitions. Every child will be given a participation wrist band and medals will be awarded to event winners. Children and teams will be provided with an official La Cité collégiale 2009 junior flag. Participants will be asked to personalize their flag which will be entered into a contest. All flags will be used during medal presentations.
All activities are free and the proceeds of hot-dogs, maple syrup taffy and drink sales will be used to offset costs for the Police Foundations Program students while volunteering in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
