SHUTTLE SERVICE AND STREET CLOSURES

Summary: The NCC would like to advise residents and visitors about the shuttle service available and the street closures that will take place during the 31st edition of Winterlude, which will be held February 6 to 22, 2009.

The National Capital Commission (NCC) would like to advise residents and visitors about the shuttle service available and the street closures that will take place during the 31st edition of Winterlude, which will be held in Canada’s Capital Region from February 6 to 22, 2009. 
 
 
WINTERLUDE SNO-BUS ($)

 
OC Transpo and Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) offer a shuttle service linking Winterlude’s four official sites: the Rideau Canal Skateway; American Express® Snowbowl, located at the head of the Skateway near Rideau street; Rogers Crystal Garden at Confederation Park; and Sun Life Snowflake Kingdom, located at Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau. Sno-Bus stops are clearly indicated on Winterlude signs along the way.
 
Schedule:         Saturdays, February 7, 14 and 21            10 am to 8 pm
                        Sundays, February 8, 15 and 22              10 am to 5:30 pm
 
 
Cost:                $3 per person (good for the day with proof of purchase) 
Children 11 years old and under ride free

ROAD CLOSURES

 
In Ottawa, Laurier Avenue West (between Nicholas and Elgin streets) and Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed to traffic at the following times*:
 
Saturdays, February 7, 14 and 21            10 am to 8 pm 
·         Sundays, February 8, 15 and 22             10 am to 5:30 pm
 
* Unless otherwise specified.
 
In Ottawa, Queen Elizabeth Driveway (between Preston Street and the Pretoria Bridge) will be closed to traffic at the following times:
 
            Saturday, February 14                            7 am to 8 pm
 
                                                                                         
In Gatineau, Laurier Street (between Verdun Street and Boulevard des Allumettières) and Saint-Étienne Street (between Laurier Street and Notre-Dame-de-l’Île Street) will be closed to traffic at the following times:
 
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, February 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20               9:30 am to 2:30 pm
Saturdays, February 7, 14 and 21                                                                        9:30 am to 8:30 pm
Sundays, February 8, 15 and 22                                                                          9:30 am to 5:30 pm
