City to Present the 2008 Accessibility by Design Award

The 8th annual Celebration of People Awards Dinner is a time to recognize the contributions and achievements of individuals, community groups, and businesses that improve the quailty of life for persons with disabilities.

 The eighth annual Celebration of People Awards Dinner, held on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, is a time to recognize the contributions and achievements of individuals, community groups and businesses that improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities.
One of the 12 awards being presented during this event is the City’s Accessibility by Design Award.
This distinguished award, created by the City of Ottawa in conjunction with the Accessibility Advisory Committee, recognizes architectural or interior design that facilitates access for persons with disabilities.
Date: Wednesday, December 3, 2008
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Dinner at 6:30 p.m. (Award presentation to follow)
Location: Hampton Inn Conference Centre, 200 Coventry Road

Nominated for this year’s 2008 Accessibility by Design Award are:
o KWC Architects Inc for the renovations to the new entrance at the Canada Science and Technology Museum
o Watson MacEwen Architects for the Courtroom Modernization Project to the Supreme Court of Canada
