 Waste Reduction Week October 19 to 25, 2008

Are you looking for an environmentally sensitive way to dispose of unwanted items like cleaning products, lawn fertilizers, pool chemicals, old computers, printers or fax machines? The City of Ottawa can help!
During Waste Reduction Week, from October 19 to 25, the City of Ottawa is inviting the general public consider how they can do more to reduce, reuse and recycle. At the City of Ottawa we are doing our part through programs such as the Household Hazardous Waste Depots, E-Waste Depots, Public Open Houses, Give-Away Weekend and the Take it Back! Program.
This year Waste Reduction Week in Ottawa offers numerous opportunities to reduce, reuse and recycle. Through a series of events the City aims to engage our residents about the environmental and social ramifications of wasteful practices and adopt more environmentally conscious choices.
Household Hazardous Waste Depot

Public Open House
Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Waste Diversion Strategy
Diversion 2015, a strategy developed to increase diversion rates of industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) waste in the City of Ottawa.
Public Open Houses will be hosted at the following dates and times:

Give-Away Weekend
Fall Give-Away Weekend 2008 is October 25 and 26. Don’t put your unwanted items in the garbage. Set them out at the curb and mark “FREE”. For you treasure hunters, tour your neighbourhood, community and city to find those hidden gems.
