Harley Owners Group hosts ride in support of The Salvation Army

 OTTAWA, Saturday, September 6th, 2008.

The Eastern Ontario Ottawa Harley Owners Group hosts their annual motorcycle ride in support of The Salvation Army's Bethany Hope Centre on Saturday, September 6th.

The ride takes motorcyclists on a 200 km "mystery tour" through the Ottawa area, ending at Capones restaurant with dinner, games, and prize draws.  Registration for the event takes place between 9:00am-10:30am at Tim Hortons, 1950 Walkely (Walkely at Conroy).  The registration fee of $15 per person includes food and prizes.

This year's benefactor, The Salvation Army's Bethany Hope Centre, is a multi-service agency providing support services and programs to young parents 13-25 years of age.  Parents have the opportunity to meet others in similar situations, develop new parenting techniques, learn about child development, and to participate in various programs that help clients cope with the challenges of being a young parent

The Salvation Army is an international Christian organization that began its work in Canada in 1882 and has grown to become the largest non-governmental direct provider of social services in the country.  The Salvation Army gives hope and support to vulnerable people in 400 communities across Canada and 111 countries around the world.  In Ottawa, The Salvation Army delivers 22 programs that offer practical assistance for children and families, often tending to the basic necessities of life, provide shelter for homeless people and rehabilitation for people who have lost control of their lives due to an addiction.
