"Beautiful, life-affirming, joyous pop music, brass 'n' all." - State

"There is no doubt they are one of the top five bands in Ireland today and what they are producing is utterly contemporary.
Fred are a breath of fresh air from the oh-so-serious world of Irish music at present. Their live shows combine their instantly
catchy songs, their magnificent musicianship and their wicked sense of humour to great effect." - The Weekender

"They play music that makes them happy, and their happiness makes us happy. As does their really great music. There's clever observations, witty lyrics
and tunes so catchy you can't help singing and dancing out loud. Yes, dancing out loud dammit- that's just how good they are!" - Dublinks

"There's no resisting this stuff unless you're a tone-deaf, stone-hearted, know nothing... Judging on tonight's showing, here are the most
underrated band on these shores, and the real hope for 2007. Blissed out, loved-up and goddamn down and out funky, Fred we love you..." - NME

Fred are a five piece from Cork City, Ireland who take the anguish, angst and pain out of Rock 'n' Roll, opting instead to just be really good. Some journalists interpret this as 'quirky', but Fred's achievements both live and in their recorded output far exceed any 'quirky' flash in the pan. Having 'Cult Status' for a long time on the live scene, 2008 has seen Fred deliver the studio album that their fans both home and abroad have been waiting for.

"Like Sly & The Family Stone in a swordfight with the Flaming Lips, refereed by Brian Wilson" is how national newspaper The Irish Times described Fred. Fred's third studio album, Go God Go, is being received with such critical mass in Ireland it is being honed as one of the strongest Irish releases of 2008 ('Startingly good music' - Hotpress, 'Saviours of Pop' - State). With two singles taking over the national airwaves simultaneously, their live reputation and fanbase has grown at a rapid pace, enlisting droves into the Fred army, everywhere they go.

October 2008 will see the release of Go God Go in Canada on Sparks Music. Fred played their debut show in Canada at NXNE in June this year, and so it seems that Fred like Canada and Canada like Fred. Fred
will be playing at PopMontreal and the Halifax Pop Explosion in support of Go God Go's release in Canada this October.

Go God Go was recorded in Love Tap Studios, in Ireland and mixed by Mark Wallis in London. Wallis is one of the most experienced and versatile producers around regarded by his peers as having the best pair of ears behind any studio having worked with U2, Talking Heads,The Smiths, Iggy Pop,and The Stranglers.
