The City of Ottawa urges its residents to make a commitment to maintain and improve our community’s environment by properly disposing of litter.
It’s summer and people are enjoying the outdoors. The City is calling on all residents and visitors to be friendly to our environment by keeping our parks, neighbourhoods and scenic locations clean.
Trash should be placed in a waste receptacle or, if appropriate, a recycling bin. Used bags, scrap paper, coffee cups, cigarette butts, pop cans fast food wrappers, chip bags and other items should be disposed of correctly, not thrown carelessly on the ground.
Please do your part, as the simple action of putting your litter where it belongs benefits everyone.
If you wish to report litter, contact the City by calling 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401). Let us know what you think about litter in Ottawa by taking our online survey at ottawa.ca/litterbug.
