Host Fund Raising Dinner May 22
for Ali Family Spaghetti + Students = Success
Fisher Park Public School Students Host Fund Raising Dinner May 22 for Ali Family May 12, 2008 Ottawa, ON — Fisher Park Public School community is reaching out to its neighbours for one of its own. Students and staff are organizing a fund raising dinner to help the Ali family who lost everything in the March 31 blaze. Their two year old son, Khalid Ali, tragically lost his life in that fire. The Fisher Park Public School’s greater community has been very generous with their time and their support for the mother, father, and six remaining siblings of the Ali family but more is needed - so the students decided to prepare a spaghetti dinner both as a fund raiser and an evening of fun for the family and the Caldwell Ave. neighbourhood. Date: Thursday, May 22 When: 6:30 p.m. Where: Fisher Park Public School. Cost: Tickets are $10/person or $20/family. Reserve: Please order tickets in advance to reserve a seat. The organizers are still in need of plates, napkins, utensils, and of course financial donations. The evening promises to be filled with hope, happiness, and heaping plates of spaghetti. Also on the evening play list is entertainment and door prizes. The guests will be served by student chefs and waiters. Tickets are available by contacting the school at 613-729-5054. The school is located at 250 Holland Avenue. Please order your tickets by the 15 of May. Tickets can be picked up from Guidance Counsellor, Susan Gardner after May 15, or on the evening of the event.
