Ottawa musician, author, professor, and businessman (City Lights Entertainment - www.citylightsent.com), Michael Wood can now add "American Idol Insider" to his resume.  After touring the US promoting his new book "You've Got A Friend In The 'Biz" (the book reached the number one spot on Amazon.ca for music business books) certain Fox affiliates began using Mr. Wood as the "Insider".  "It started with Fox Milwaukee.  I went in to promote the book and talk about breaking into the industry and they pitched the idea of doing weekly calls into the station", says Wood.  This apparently has prompted other stations to seek out Mr. Wood's insight including Fox Chicago, Fox Memphis, Fox Columbus among others.

Mr. Wood, who was discovered by legendary radio DJ Casey Kasem and made with recordings with the likes of Dale Penner (producer, Nickelback) is currently a voting member of the Recording Academy for the Grammy Awards has been a long time staple of the Ottawa music scene.  He has toured North America and performed with the likes Buckcherry, Everclear, Vince Neil (Motley Crue) and more.  As to who is going to win this year's American Idol, "in my opinion, it is going to come down to the two David's (Cook and Archuleta) however it completely depends on whether America wants a rocker or pop star".
