STREET CLOSURES DURING WINTERLUDE 2008

The National Capital Commission (NCC) would like to advise residents and visitors of the street closures that will take place during the 30th edition of Winterlude, which will be held in Canada’s Capital Region from February 1 to 17, 2008.

ROAD CLOSURES

 

In Ottawa,Laurier Avenue West (between Nicholas and Elgin streets) and Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed to traffic at the following times:

 

            Saturdays, February 2, 9 and 16                      9:30 am to 8:30 pm 

            Sundays, February 3, 10 and 17                      9:30 am to 6 pm

 

In Ottawa, Queen Elizabeth Driveway (between Preston Street and the Pretoria Bridge) will be closed to traffic at the following times :

 

            Saturdays, February 2 and 9                7 am to 8:30 pm

 

In Gatineau, LaurierStreet (between Verdun and Saint-Étienne streets) will be closed to traffic at the following times:

 

            Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, February 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15        9:30 am to 2:30 pm

 

In Gatineau, Laurier Street (between Verdun Street and des Allumettières Boulevard) as well as Saint-Étienne Street (between Laurier and Notre-Dame-de-l'Île streets) will be closed to traffic at the following times:

            Saturdays and Sundays, February 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17                                 9:30 am to 5:30 pm  

WINTERLUDE SNO-BUS ($)

 

OC Transpo and STO offer a shuttle service which links Winterlude's four official sites:  the Rideau Canal Skateway; the American Express® Snowbowl, located at the head of the Skateway; the Casino du Lac-Leamy Crystal Garden at Confederation Park; and Sun Life Snowflake Kingdom located at Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau. Sno-Bus stops are clearly indicated on Winterlude signs along the way.

Schedule:         Saturdays, February 2, 9 and 16          10 am to 8 pm

Sundays, February 3, 10 and 17                      10 am to 5:30 pm

 

Cost:                $2.50 per person (good for the day with proof of purchase)  

Children 11 years old and under ride free
