Media Advisory – Ottawa Business Leaders to be EXILED
Exile Island Ottawa to raise funds for Children’s Wish.
Ottawa, ON, June 26,2012 – On Thursday, June 28, 2012 executives from some of Ottawa’s most prominent businesses will become castaways and be exiled to Mooney’s Bay for Ottawa’s 2nd annual EXILE ISLAND (www.exileisland.ca). The one-of-a-kind corporate challenge will raise funds for The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.
The action-packed event will feature 13 rival tribes competing in a variety of challenging mental and physical competitions – their goal is to OUTSMART, OUTPLAY, and OUTPLEDGE the other teams. Tribes are matched up to local wish children who have yet to be granted their most heartfelt with from Children’s Wish.
Last year’s Ottawa Exile Island raised $30,000 with only 5 tribes, and as word spread about this unique event our 2012 numbers have grown to over 100 participants coming out on June 28th. The objective of this year’s Exile Island is to surpass last year’s success and grant even more once in a lifetime wishes.

The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant an exceptional wish to 18,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Children’s Wish Foundation is a national charity with Chapters in every province and territory. Visit www.chidlrenswish.ca for more information.
