Free admission to Museum of Nature on Canada Day
OTTAWA, June 27, 2012 - Celebrate Canada Day with free general admission to the Canadian Museum of Nature on July 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Join the festive atmosphere and learn about Canada’s natural environments through the museum’s fun and educational galleries. Dinosaurs, mammals, birds, minerals and marine creatures are all part of the mix.
Head to our Discovery Zone to make a special nature-themed Canada Day headband. You can also listen to an Inuit legend and test your knowledge of whale songs−all activities that are part of the museum’s regular summer programming. For a small fee, families can take part in a special workshop to explore beliefs and traditions of the First Nations and Inuit.
Be sure to visit to Whales Tohora, the special exhibition from the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Catch a screening of Sea Monsters or Turtle Vision in our 3D Theatre (extra fees apply for the 3D movies and Whales Tohora).
The museum is located at 240 McLeod Street (at Metcalfe). Follow the museum on Twitter (@museumofnature) or become a fan on Facebook.
For general information, visit nature.ca or phone 613-566-4700.
Until Labour Day, the museum is open daily (including holidays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, with extended hours on Thursday and Friday until 8 p.m.
