Birthdays return to the Canadian Museum of Nature
OTTAWA, FEBRUARY 6, 2012 - Birthday parties are back at the Canadian Museum of Nature! Children aged four to eight can now share their special day among the museum’s dinos, marine creatures, majestic mammals and creepy crawlies. Special activities, 3D movies, and a dedicated party room will all add to the memorable experience.
Parents can choose from two packages on Saturday and Sunday. Each includes time with a museum educator to learn about either dinosaurs (Paleo Pals) or oceans (Scuba Stars), as well as access to the museum’s galleries and a room to play games and share birthday cake or cupcakes. Special add-ons are also available—the party can be tailor-made to include viewings of eye-popping 3D nature movies, a catered lunch, entry to special blockbuster exhibitions and museum-themed loot bags.
Parents seeking a simpler option can simply rent a lunch room and have a group visit to the galleries.
Although the popular birthday program had been in place for years, it was stopped during the museum’s extensive renovations, which were completed in May 2010. Now a new generation can create memories that come from celebrating a birthday in the museum’s historic “castle.”
The museum is located at 240 McLeod Street (at Metcalfe). Follow the museum on Twitter (@museumofnature) or become a friend on Facebook.
