Due to overwhelming demand, six-time Grammy Award-winning recording artists The Black Eyed Peas have announced the second leg of their BlackBerry Presents "The E.N.D. World Tour 2010", which arrives in Ottawa on Sunday, Aug. 1. Supported by BACARDI(R) Rum, the official spirit of the tour, this AEG Live-produced trek is described as the ultimate Black Eyed Peas party experience, and marks the first time that the group - will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie - has united for a North American headlining tour since their 2006 "Monkey Business" outing.
The North American leg of BlackBerry Presents "The E.N.D. World Tour 2010" is the group's most ambitious stage production to date, and has been acclaimed by critics across the United States. The New York Times called the show "pop's latest sci-fi spectacle," and RollingStone.com described it as "kind of Buck Rogers meets Vivienne Westwood," while the Boston Globe recognized the Peas as "full-throttle performers seemingly made for arena-ready entertainment."
The Black Eyed Peas' #1 album The E.N.D. is RIAA-certified triple platinum in the U.S., having sold more than 2.2 million copies in the U.S. and 6 million copies worldwide. It is currently in its 38th week on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The group's newest single, "Imma Be," just earned its second week at the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 and Hot Digital Tracks charts, with sales greater than $1.5 million and Top 10 download status at iTunes. The smash hit follows record-breaking, consecutive #1 singles "Boom Boom Pow" (12 weeks at #1, and $4.9 million sales to date) and "I Gotta Feeling" (14 weeks at #1, and $5.1 million sales to date) which is the most downloaded song in iTunes history.
