New Ottawa Repertory Theratre presents Cherry Docs

New Ottawa Repertory Theatre (NORT) presents Cherry Docs, by Ottawa playwright David Gow, at the Natalie Stern Studio Theatre (OSSD), 294 Picton Ave., Westboro, Mar. 19-21, 26-28, 2010, 8:00 pm.

In Cherry Docs, a neo-Nazi skinhead charged with murder has a Jewish legal-aid lawyer appointed to defend him. The title is an abbreviation of the phrase "cherry red Doc Marten boots", worn by skinheads. The lawyer, Danny, insists that the young offender, Mike, help construct his own defense, to make the young man "stand up" and be accountable.

New Ottawa Repertory Theatre (NORT) is dedicated to bringing to the National Capital region theatre pieces that emphasize the human condition. This production, directed by Paul Dervis, features Garrett Quirk (Shining City, SevenThirty Productions, High Life, All the Rage, Chamber Theatre) and Jeff Lefebvre (Murder In The Cathedral, Julius Caesar, Third Wall Theatre; Serial Monogamy, A Straight Guy's Guide to Bondage, New Ottawa Repertory Theatre).
