Nepean High School student Michael Tayler finished 3rd in the K1 Junior category at the 2010 Oceania Championships, which were hosted by Australia at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium near Sydney. The grade twelve student is participating in a National Training Camp in Australia with a dozen other Canadian whitewater paddlers including five time Olympian David Ford.
Michael will begin training full time in preparation for the upcoming season including a three week March camp in Charlotte, North Carolina followed by National Team Trials in May. This is a great start to the season for Michael who is already considered North America's top junior as he prepares for the 2010 World Championships in Foix, France July 10-12.
