10 POSTED ON February 04, 2010 This is press release is to announce the publication of Dr. Michel Luc Bellemare's third book in his blacksatin series titled: Color-realism: (The essence of color and reality). The book explores the limits of color and the way it structures our psyche.
Color-Realism is a book that stipulates that color is the basic language of human emotion and consciousness. The book thesis is that color is basis of human understanding in the sense that all human concepts are colorized. The human cannot think outside of color as color is the armature of concepts, hence the notion that reality is conceptual and a product of color. As well, the book is an inauguration of an artistic style called Color-realism that places color before form. In fact, form is an effect of color, specifically color-division in the color-realism philosophy. For color-realism a picture's success lies in the viewer in the sense that a color-field image reaches out of its plain and touches the viewer in a psychic manner via its effect. Color-realism, as an artistic style, is about bringing color to the forefront of human expression. Color-realism is not about depicting an illusory reality in its exactitude as landscape art attempts but color-realism concerns itself with the elementals of reality, which is color. Whether it be abstract or landscapes, color-realism stipulates color is that which both manipulate for their individual effects. Michel has paintings in the national gallery of canada, the museum of civilization and among private collectors. His books can be found in the national gallery of canada, the national library of canada and among various univerisities. Michel can be reached at avantgarde@canoemail.com
