The National Capital Commission (NCC) wishes to advise residents and visitors of the shuttle service available and the street closures that will take place during the 32nd edition of Winterlude, which will be held in Canada’s Capital Region from February 5 to 21, 2010.
ROAD CLOSURES FOR FEBRUARY 5 ONLY
On Friday, February 5, a spectacular musical fireworks display launched from, among other places, the Alexandra Bridge, will be one of the highlights of the NCC’s American Express® Winterlude Opening. The following street closures will take place on that day only:
In Ottawa, MacKenzie Avenue will be closed from 6 pm to 10 pm.
In Gatineau, Laurier Street (between Victoria Street and Boulevard des Allumettières) and Boulevard des Allumettières (between Maisonneuve Street and Laurier Street) will be closed from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Pedestrians and motorists should take note that the Alexandra Bridge will be progressively closed at the following times:
• 9 am to 10 pm: Pedestrian boardwalk closed
• 4 pm to 10 pm: Southbound centre lane to Ottawa closed
• 6 pm to 10 pm: Bridge completely closed (time of reopening is approximate)
WINTERLUDE SNO-BUS ($)
OC Transpo and the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) offer a shuttle service linking Winterlude’s three official sites: the Rideau Canal Skateway; Rogers Crystal Garden at Confederation Park; and Sun Life Snowflake Kingdom, located at Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau. Sno-Bus stops are clearly indicated on Winterlude signs along the way.
Schedule: Saturdays, February 6, 13 and 20 10 am to 8 pm
Sundays, February 7, 14 and 21 10 am to 5:30 pm
Cost: $3 per person (good for the day with proof of purchase)
Children 11 years old and under ride free

ROAD CLOSURES
In Ottawa, Laurier Avenue West (between Nicholas and Elgin streets) and Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed to traffic at the following times:
• Saturday, February 20 9:30 am to 8:30 pm
• Sundays, February 7, 14 and 21 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
In Ottawa, Queen Elizabeth Driveway (between Preston Street and the Pretoria Bridge) will be closed to traffic at the following times:
Saturdays, February 6 and 13 7:30 am to 8:30 pm
In Gatineau, Laurier Street (between Verdun Street and Boulevard des Allumettières) and Saint-Étienne Street (between Laurier Street and Notre-Dame-de-l’Île Street) will be closed to traffic at the following times:
• Saturdays and Sundays, February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
In Gatineau, Laurier Street (between Verdun Street and Saint-Étienne Street) will be closed to traffic at the following times:
• Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, February 8, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19,
9:30 am to 2:30 pm
