"I Love Zaphod’s! I thought it was because of the live acts that perform in the intimate setting that would draw me to this venue…but perhaps it is something else. Something more subtle that I cannot really put my finger on. A sense of being ‘cared for’ and even ‘attended-to’ by one of the best hosts in our town. Zaphod’s is an institution and a tremendously successful business, but one that patrons feel they have grown up with, and participated in the success of!

Zaphod's always throws the most reasonably-priced, fun and exciting New Year's Eve Party every year. We consistently present Ottawa's best line-up of bands to close out the year and ring in a new one. It's part of our philosophy to celebrate New Year's Eve like we celebrate every day of the year; with good people, good music and good cheer.

Featured bands this year:

LINDSAY FERGUSON released her first ever full-length album "SOUND" setting a record breaking attendance CD Release Party at The Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield Quebec. Recorded by producer great, Mr. Dave Draves of Little Bullhorn Productions, "SOUND" has been critically acclaimed as Canada's 2nd Best album of 2007 (only after FEIST's "Reminder") by the Ottawa Citizen.
BLAZER is an indie sextet currently gaining momentum and winning fans amongst Ottawa musical veterans and hipsters alike. They are known for high-energy live shows that can set even the most jaded toes tapping. Their synth-infused sound recalls The Eurythmics and Pet Shop Boys, while their complex guitar riffs and danceable drum beats are reminiscent of The Killers and Coldplay.
THE POLYMORPHINES' music is made up of blazing guitar riffs backed by soulful baselines and exploding kick and snare drums "inspired by the likes of Keith Richards and Lou Reed" (The Ottawa Citizen).
THE SIN KICKERS draw their musical chops from Queens of The Stone Age, Fu Manchu, Low Rider, Son Volt, Five Horse Johnson, Drive by Truckers and drinking buddies everywhere!
