Tabaret Hall was designed as a model of the US Capitol building, with
a high dome and porticos on side wings. It has a symmetrical facade
and plan, continued for all wings except most recent. The modern dome
(shown above) replaced an earlier nondecript lantern. (Source: David

first opened its doors over 75 years ago. Open seven days a week, from
7:00am - 6:00pm.

Bridge Company of Lachine, Quebec, it was erected in 1898 in just two
months at a cost of $75,000 ... one of Ottawa's earliest community skating
rinks ... the original Ottawa Senators won the Stanley Cup here in 1904...

SEPTEMBER 11: The Ottawa Police Service
is seeking assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in the death
of 27 year old Ardeth Wood, Wednesday August 6th 2003. This person was
observed on the bike path in the area of Green’s Creek operating
a bicycle and approaching females on a number of occasions, attempting
to lure them to more secluded areas of the bike path.
The investigators want to emphasize that if you have called in a tip
and TODAY’S INFORMATION IS CONSISTANT WITH THE TIP YOU CALLED
IN, YOU NEED TO CALL IN THAT TIP AGAIN AT THE FOLLOWING NUMBERS: TIP

John, the artist who created this mural, writes: "Mary
Pal of the Glebe Center retirement home gave me an opportunity to rekindle
my passion for paint. I just wish there were more spots in Ottawa where
artists could display their works and eradicate some of the stereotypes
that we artists are often pigeon-holed into. There's not much uglier
than a bare grey wall and I think society now realizes that graffiti
does not equal gang activity, so why not throw a little colour on these
